A Castiron alternative

Rebuild on numbers you own

Castiron was acquired in November 2024, and as of August 2, 2026 its address returns a server error. We could not find an announcement either way. Doughflow is not a marketplace and will not bring you shoppers. It is the money side of your food business: what each recipe truly costs, what to charge, and whether a market day paid. Free to start, and your data downloads whenever you want it.

Two different jobs

Castiron sold you a storefront. Doughflow works out your numbers. Those were always separate jobs, and it is worth being clear about which one you are replacing, so you do not go looking for shoppers in a costing tool.

Castiron

A website and online store platform for food makers, acquired in November 2024

  • A website builder for your own storefront, with no coding needed
  • An online store with checkout and payments
  • A listing in Castiron's marketplace, where customers could find your shop
  • Custom order forms, a customer database, and an order calendar
  • Email marketing, SEO settings, and sales reporting

Taken from Castiron's own site as it stood on November 3, 2024, weeks before the acquisition, read via the Internet Archive. Checked August 2, 2026, castiron.me returns a server error, so this is what the platform offered, not what you can sign up for today.

Doughflow

The costing and pricing side, for makers who sell in person

  • A true cost per item, with ingredients, your labor, and overhead in
  • A price with a live margin that re-costs when ingredient prices move
  • Profit and loss for every market day, down to the net you kept
  • A free public page where customers follow you and reserve for pickup

Bringing your recipes over

You do not need an export file to start, which helps when the platform you used is no longer answering.

  1. Put your recipes in

Type them in free, with no cap on how many. Or photograph a handwritten card, upload a PDF, or paste the text and Doughflow reads the ingredients and amounts in for you. Two of those AI imports are included free.

  2. Cost them from real receipts

Enter what you actually paid, so the number means something. A rebuilt recipe with guessed prices is only a nicer guess. On a paid plan you can photograph a supply receipt and have the line items read in, with matches to your ingredients suggested for your review.

  3. Price to a margin you can see

Doughflow adds your hours and overhead, shows the true cost per item, and suggests a price with the margin visible. Wholesale and consignment quotes come off the same real cost.

Common questions

What happened to Castiron?
T.D. Jakes Enterprises announced on November 21, 2024 that it had acquired Castiron and would use its technology to launch a new platform called Nourysh. Internet Archive captures show castiron.me redirecting to a seller path on shopcastiron.com through October 2025. Checked on August 2, 2026, castiron.me returns a server error, and both shopcastiron.com and nourysh.com fail on security certificates that expired in February 2026. We could not find any announcement from either company giving makers an end date.
Is Doughflow a Castiron alternative?
It depends on what you used Castiron for. If you need a marketplace that sends shoppers your way, Doughflow is not that and will not pretend to be. If you need to know what your food actually costs, what to charge for it, and whether a market day paid, that is exactly what Doughflow does. It sits alongside wherever you sell rather than replacing it.
Can I bring my recipes over without an export file?
Yes. Building recipes by hand is free and uncapped, so you can start without an import from anywhere. If you would rather not retype, you can photograph a handwritten card or printed sheet, upload a PDF, or paste recipe text and Doughflow reads the ingredients and amounts in. Two of those AI imports are included free, and more come with a paid plan.
Can I get my data back out of Doughflow?
Yes, and you should try it in your first week. Settings has a one-click download of your recipes, ingredients, purchase history, events, and settings, on every plan including the free one. You never have to ask us for it.
Do you take a cut of my sales?
Your sales stay yours. Doughflow never takes a cut of what you sell through Square, Shopify, your own storefront, or in person. Reserve preorders on your Doughflow page are free — your customer orders ahead and pays you at pickup. If you turn on online payments for a drop, card processing plus a small per-order service fee applies, shown plainly before you enable it.
